EU Business School Geneva in one minute

EU Business School Geneva is the Geneva campus of the private EU Business School, part of the OMNES Education group, which also runs campuses in Barcelona and Munich. The campus sits in the new Pont-Rouge business district. A BBA graduate receives three awards at once: a private degree from EU Business School Switzerland, a título propio from the Spanish university UVic-UCC and a state-recognised UK BA (Hons) from the University of Derby. In 2026/27 a bachelor’s semester costs $18,480 (CHF 15,400).

Good fit: students who want business, finance or international relations in English in a city of UN agencies and multinationals, and who value a UK degree alongside the school’s own diploma. Four intakes a year, in October, February, June and August, add flexibility.

Limits to know in advance. EU Business School is not on the list of accredited Swiss higher education institutions. Under Geneva’s rules, students of such schools cannot get a part-time work permit, and the residence application requires a written undertaking to leave after your studies.

Which degrees graduates receive and what they mean

EU Business School has no Swiss institutional accreditation of its own, so the value of the programme rests on the partner awards. The BBA carries three of them.

AwardIssued byHow it is treated
Bachelor’s degree, EU Business School Switzerlandthe schoolprivate award; the BBA and several other programmes are accredited by the US body ACBSP
Título propioUniversitat de Vic — Universitat Central de Catalunya (UVic-UCC)a university-specific degree; in Spain it does not give access to official master’s or PhD programmes
BA (Hons) in Business ManagementUniversity of Derby (UK)state-recognised UK degree from a QAA-reviewed university

Employers and master’s admissions outside Spain usually look at the UK degree. If you plan a master’s at a Spanish public university, the título propio will not qualify you. Other Geneva bachelor’s programmes may carry a different combination of awards, so check programme by programme.

The school reports a five-star QS Stars rating, which is an audit against set criteria rather than a ranking position.

The Pont-Rouge campus and life in Geneva

Classes take place in two new buildings in the Pont-Rouge district in the south of Geneva: Esplanade de Pont-Rouge 2 and Route des Acacias 43. The area is close to international organisations, banks and corporate headquarters, which makes guest lectures and employer projects easier to arrange than at a resort-based school.

Geneva is one of Europe’s most expensive rental markets. EU Business School does not advertise its own residence; campus staff help with visas and the housing search, but students sign leases themselves. The canton asks for a copy of the lease or a landlord’s statement with the permit application.

The BBA takes three years and seven semesters of 30 ECTS each. Year 1 lays the base: management, marketing, finance, data analytics, design thinking and project management. One or two summer semesters let you finish sooner, and an optional eighth semester adds a Diploma of Advanced Studies. Students can transfer between EU campuses and join exchanges with OMNES schools.

  1. Application. Online form and a non-refundable CHF 200 ($240) fee.
  2. Interview. A personal admissions adviser sets up a one-to-one assessment to understand your goals.
  3. Documents. Certified school certificate and transcript, two recommendation letters, a 500-word essay or 1–2 minute video, an English certificate, a bank letter on financial solvency and your passport.
  4. Decision. The school states it replies within one week of a complete file.
  5. Residence permit. After admission, apply for the type D visa and file with the cantonal OCPM.

Documents not in English need a certified translation. For a student who needs a visa, February or June 2027 is a realistic start; there is no longer enough time for the October 2026 intake.

Documents for a Geneva residence permit

The cantonal OCPM issues a study permit for one year and renews it until the end of the course; in principle, study and training are allowed for up to eight years in total. The application includes:

  • a copy of your ID and a photo;
  • the school’s admission certificate;
  • a CV and a motivation letter covering your plans after graduation;
  • the study plan with weekly hours and total length;
  • a written undertaking to leave Switzerland at the end of your studies;
  • proof of sufficient funds or a sponsor guarantee (form O);
  • a lease or a landlord’s statement.

Changing school or study plan requires a new permit. Our Swiss student visa guide covers the type D visa application.

Budget separately for living in Geneva: rent, mandatory health insurance, transport and food are not in the school’s fees. The domestic rate EU offers Swiss citizens and residents does not apply to international students. Our guide to the cost of studying in Switzerland compares public universities and living costs.

Part-time work and internships under Geneva rules

Part-time work. Geneva lets non-EU students work up to 15 hours a week after six months of study, but only at an accredited Swiss higher education institution. EU Business School is not on that list, so do not count on term-time earnings.

Internships. The compulsory BBA internship is authorised separately: OCPM approves it when the placement is part of the study plan and lasts less than half of the whole course. You must apply whether the internship is paid or unpaid and may start only once it is approved. A placement at an international organisation does not come with a legitimation card and follows the same procedure.

Careers and common mistakes

The practical core of the BBA is a compulsory internship in your field, without which the degree is not awarded. EU’s careers team helps students find placements. After graduating, the Derby degree supports applications to master’s programmes in the UK and elsewhere; each university makes its own admission decision.

Common mistakes:

  • treating the título propio as an official Spanish degree;
  • budgeting two semesters a year when the Geneva BBA runs to seven semesters;
  • expecting Geneva part-time work rights like university students have;
  • starting an internship before the OCPM permit arrives.

Under an agreement with StudyU we compare Geneva with EU’s Barcelona and Munich campuses and with accredited Swiss institutions, check documents, and prepare the essay, application and type D visa file. EU Business School decides admission, the Swiss embassy decides the visa with the canton’s approval, and OCPM decides the residence and internship permits. Send us your details through the consultation form.

FAQ

Three awards: a private degree from EU Business School Switzerland, a título propio from UVic-UCC and a BA (Hons) in Business Management from the University of Derby. The UK degree is the state-recognised one.

It does not appear on the swissuniversities list of accredited institutions. The school relies on ACBSP programme accreditation and on degrees from partner universities in the UK and Spain.

In 2026/27 a semester costs CHF 15,400, and seven BBA semesters total CHF 107,800, about $129,380. Application and final-project fees and Geneva living costs come on top.

OCPM grants part-time work permits only to students of accredited Swiss institutions. An EU Business School student can work legally during the compulsory internship once the canton approves it.

The BBA starts four times a year, in October, February, June and August. If you need a visa, allow several months for it and aim for a 2027 start.

The bachelor’s needs IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL iBT 79, and master’s and MBA programmes IELTS 6.5. With IELTS 5.0 you can begin with the CHF 8,200 English Foundation Program.
