LSBF Singapore in brief

London School of Business & Finance (LSBF) Singapore is a private education institution in the CBD that teaches UK university degrees and professional qualifications such as ACCA. Its bachelor's degrees are awarded by partner universities, for example the University of Greenwich, and take 24 months full-time. A year-1 BA (Hons) in Accounting and Finance costs $23,894 (S$30,520) for international students.

LSBF has operated in Singapore since 2011 from 143 Cecil Street. It is a practical, career-focused school rather than a research university, with a 1:25 teacher-student ratio listed on its degree pages.

A good match if you:

  • want a fast, practical UK degree in accounting, business, IT or hospitality;
  • plan to combine a degree with ACCA exemptions;
  • prefer a city-centre school over a large campus.

Not ideal if you:

  • want campus life, research facilities and residences;
  • need a big-name university degree for competitive graduate schemes.

Status and awarding partners

London School of Business & Finance Pte Ltd is registered with Singapore's regulator under PEI registration 201008079C for 13 March 2024 to 12 March 2028. LSBF states that it has renewed its Enhanced Registration and holds EduTrust certification, which is what allows it to enrol international students on a Student's Pass.

  • Degrees awarded by UK partners: University of Greenwich, University of East London, University of Chichester, University of Roehampton
  • Registered PEI until March 2028
  • In Singapore since 2011

Campus and study format

Teaching takes place in the GB Building on Cecil Street, in the financial district. Full-time international students attend day classes and must keep 90% attendance under Student's Pass rules; evening and weekend classes are for local part-time students.

Programmes: accounting first

The BA (Hons) Accounting and Finance, awarded by the University of Greenwich, covers financial reporting under IFRS, auditing to International Standards on Auditing, financial ratio analysis and computerised accounting. Graduates can receive exemptions from up to nine ACCA exams.

The BA (Hons) Business Management, also from Greenwich, covers leadership and negotiation, strategy, innovation, entrepreneurship, ethics, international business and management practice. LSBF also offers BSc degrees in computer science, cyber security, data science and AI, and biomedical and health sciences, plus hospitality and logistics.

If you want only a professional qualification, LSBF also runs ACCA preparatory courses, but they do not lead to a bachelor's degree.

Admission and the January 2027 intake

The accounting and business management degrees list a January intake for international students in day classes. International applicants go through pre-programme counselling, submit certified and translated documents, pay the application fee, receive an offer and then sign the standard PEI student contract before the Student's Pass application.

Your backgroundRoute
Year 12 school certificate or IB 24 pointsyear 1 of the degree
11-year school certificate not accepted as equivalentLSBF Foundation Diploma first
Relevant diploma (local students)year 2 entry or year 3 top-up, priced for local students only

For January 2027, start in September or October 2026: document translation, the offer, fee payment and ICA's Student's Pass processing all need to fit before classes.

Documents, English and pitfalls

  • Passport
  • Certified school certificate and transcript with translations; originals must be shown
  • IELTS 5.5 in each skill, TOEFL 550 or an accepted equivalent
  • Application form and fee
  • Proof of medical insurance, or LSBF's own cover

Pitfalls:

  • signing the contract without reading the refund and withdrawal policy;
  • assuming part-time evening classes are open to Student's Pass holders;
  • forgetting that the 5.5 IELTS rule applies to every skill, not the average;
  • paying the full course fee before confirming the Fee Protection Scheme cover.

Fees and extra charges

BA (Hons) Business Management, year-1 entry$23,894 (S$30,520)whole programme, incl. GST

University fee, undergraduate$427 (S$545)charged once
Medical insurance$55 (S$70) per yearunless you show your own cover

The Fee Protection Scheme, which LSBF absorbs, protects paid fees if the school cannot continue the course. Rent and daily costs in Singapore come on top, so budget for a shared room from the start.

Scholarships and funding

LSBF's own FAQ notes that SkillsFuture and PSEA funding currently apply only to selected programmes at public institutions such as NUS, NTU and SMU, so they do not reduce LSBF fees. Any fee support LSBF offers is discussed with its education consultants before enrolment; base your budget on the published fee.

Careers after LSBF

Accounting graduates typically aim for audit, accounts and finance roles and continue with ACCA. The Greenwich degree is recognised as a UK bachelor's for master's applications. Staying in Singapore after graduation depends on finding an employer willing to obtain a work pass for you.

The BA (Hons) Accounting and Finance and the BA (Hons) Business Management each cost $23,894 (S$30,520) including GST for international students entering year 1. Application, university and insurance fees are charged separately.

LSBF's full-time bachelor's programmes for year-1 entry run for 24 months. Year-2 and top-up (year-3) entry are priced only for local students on the programme pages, so international students should plan for the full 24 months.

LSBF asks international students for a Year 12 high school qualification or an equivalent, or completion of its Foundation Diploma. Graduates of 11-year school systems should have their certificate assessed first; the Foundation Diploma is the published route if it is not accepted as equivalent.

IELTS with at least 5.5 in each skill, TOEFL 550 or an equivalent such as an LSBF upper-intermediate English course or a B2 result on its placement test.
