Healthcare Management in Turkey

Healthcare Management (Sağlık Yönetimi, also listed as Health Management) is a four-year bachelor's in a faculty of health sciences that trains administrators for hospitals, clinics, insurers and public health bodies: accounting and finance, health law, health information systems, quality and human resources, with hospital internships. The only English-taught bachelor's in our catalogue is at Medipol ($4,500 a year for 2026/27); Turkish-taught programmes range from $3,500 (Gelisim, 2025/26 list) to $8,000 (Istinye).

Master's and doctoral programmes are common and fairly cheap, and most are priced for the whole programme rather than per year.

Okan's published plan reads like a business degree built around hospitals. The first year is economics, business mathematics, introduction to business and financial accounting; the second adds community health, medical terminology, health law and two Health Management courses.

In the third year you do the first hospital internship and study health communication, biostatistics, human resources, health informatics and technology management. The fourth year brings strategic management, business analytics, epidemiology, comparative health systems and health economics, and a second hospital internship.

Graduate health-management fees in Turkey are usually quoted for the whole programme. A non-thesis master's lasts about three semesters and suits people already working in health care; a thesis master's lasts four semesters and is the route to a PhD. For 2026/27, Okan charges $3,500 (non-thesis) or $4,500 (thesis) in total, Yeni Yuzyil $3,500 or $4,000, Uskudar $4,400 or $4,800, and Istinye $8,000 or $8,500. Doctorates cost $7,000 at Okan, $7,800 at Uskudar and $12,500 at Istinye for the whole programme.

All of these graduate programmes teach in Turkish, so graduate study here needs strong Turkish.

Bachelor's admission is on the school diploma and transcript (or international exams at some universities). For Turkish-taught programmes you need B2 Turkish or a preparatory year; Okan, for instance, accepts a TÖMER B2 certificate or its own Turkish exam. For Medipol's English-taught track you need an accepted English result or a preparatory year. Graduate rules differ by university: Istinye, for example, asks international master's applicants for at least 60% in their bachelor's and does not require the Turkish ALES exam.

Graduates work in hospital administration (patient services, admissions, billing and insurance, quality and accreditation, purchasing, HR), in private health insurers, health-tech and pharmaceutical companies, and in public health institutions. Senior hospital management usually comes after experience and a master's.

In Turkey, many roles in private hospitals deal with Turkish patients and paperwork in Turkish, so fluent Turkish is a real advantage even if you studied in English. A work permit arranged by the employer is also required.

Discounts for paying in advance are common: Medipol's English track is $4,050, Okan's bachelor's $4,275, Uskudar's $3,800 and Altinbas lists 10% and 15% reductions. Yeni Yuzyil's list shows $2,500 with its 50% scholarship. Istinye asks for at least half of the annual fee at final registration, with the balance due by 1 December 2026.
