TED University

TED University is a private city university in central Ankara, founded in 2009 by the Turkish Education Association. Its undergraduate programs are taught in English, making it a practical option for international students who want an English-medium degree in Turkey's capital.

TEDU combines a relatively compact academic community with project work, entrepreneurship and early career development. TEDU-GO supports technology-oriented ventures, while research centres work in areas such as data science, sustainable technologies and social policy. The university fits applicants who are comfortable studying entirely in English and prefer an urban campus to a remote residential one. From 2026-2027, the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences admits students directly to departments rather than to a broad faculty route. Applicants should ensure that the exact department and discount are named in the offer.

Five faculties cover Education, Engineering, Arts and Sciences, Economics and Administrative Sciences, and Architecture and Design. English-medium options include Computer, Software, Civil, Electrical and Electronics, and Industrial Engineering; Economics, Business Administration, Psychology and Sociology; Architecture, Interior Architecture, and City and Regional Planning.

Education programs include Early Childhood Education, Primary Education, Mathematics Education and English Language Teaching. Applicants planning a teaching career outside Turkey should check how the qualification is recognised in their intended country of work.

For the 2026-2027 international intake, most English-taught bachelor's programs have a full annual fee of $11,800 and a published 50% discounted fee of $5,900. Early Childhood Education is $7,500 before the discount and $3,750 after it.

TED University has student dormitory facilities on two different campuses. The first is a 93-bed men's dormitory in the Maltepe neighborhood and the second is a 392-bed women's dormitory in the Bilkent neighborhood. Life in the university's dormitories is arranged with students' needs in mind, so all rooms are equipped with desks, closets, refrigerators, bathrooms, toilets, and there are common areas for study, recreation and social activities. To keep campus sports alive, TED University provides students with free access to 7,000 square feet of athletic facilities, including a multi-purpose indoor gymnasium, swimming pool, and fitness center. In addition, the campus features a library with 80,000 printed books and 250 study spaces.

The standard application set includes a passport, high-school diploma or expected-graduation letter, transcript and photograph. The admissions committee reviews school performance, while relevant projects and achievements can strengthen the overall profile.

Because undergraduate study is English-medium, admitted students must demonstrate the required level or take the university assessment and, if necessary, an English preparatory year. Current accepted certificates and scores should be checked for the 2026-2027 intake.

Academic fit

Open the curriculum for each shortlisted degree and mark the mathematics, coding, studio, writing and placement requirements. Similar titles can hide different learning styles. Add housing, deposit, food, insurance, residence permit and transport to tuition. The $3,750 figure applies to discounted Early Childhood Education, not to every degree. For teaching programs, affordability should be considered together with professional recognition and the language used in the intended workplace.

Preparing for the first semester

Academic writing and subject terminology are worth practising before arrival. A manageable combination of coursework, one professional club and regular career exploration is usually more productive than joining every available activity.
