About Halic University

Campus - Halic University

Established in 1998 by the Foundation for Children with Leukemia, Haliç University is among Turkey's pioneering foundation universities. Situated in the heart of Istanbul, the university encompasses eight faculties, three vocational schools, a conservatory, and a graduate institute, serving over 10,000 students with the support of 600 academic and 200 administrative staff.

A distinctive feature of Haliç University is its strategic location along the Golden Horn, providing students with immediate access to Istanbul's rich cultural and historical milieu. This central positioning facilitates smooth connections to business districts, creative industries, and ample networking opportunities.

Laboratory - Halic University

The university emphasizes experiential learning, integrating practical applications into its curricula. Engineering students engage in applied research within the university's laboratories, while conservatory students actively participate in professional performances and stage productions throughout the city.

Computer lab - Halic University

Haliç University is also recognized for its strong ties to the creative industries, particularly in arts, design, and performing arts.

Student event - Halic University

As a growing research hub, the university actively contributes to innovation. Notable projects include "Spatial Bodies: Experiencing Space with Drawing and Improvisation," which explores new ways to perceive space through artistic techniques, and an interior design study on furniture functionality and flexibility in office spaces. These initiatives reflect the university’s commitment to merging academia with industry applications.

Haliç University has also gained international recognition, with its degrees officially accepted in Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and Palestine as of 2024, allowing its graduates to pursue careers in these regions.

Haliç is currently listed in the 901+ band of the QS Europe Rankings. This is an institutional reference, not a score for every program. Accreditation, teaching language, practice and professional recognition are more useful for an individual decision.

The practical advantage of Haliç is a broad catalogue within one city campus. Students may combine their main field with languages, digital skills, business or creative work, provided they plan electives and internships carefully.

Admission Requirements of Halic University

Undergraduate applicants normally submit a passport, diploma or expected-graduation letter, school transcript and photograph. Documents outside Turkish or English must be translated for registration. Art, design and architecture programs can request a portfolio.

English-medium students demonstrate proficiency through an accepted certificate or university examination. Turkish-medium programs use a Turkish requirement. Even in English Medicine or health sciences, Turkish is practically important for patient contact.

The academic structure includes Medicine, Health Sciences, Engineering, Architecture, Business Administration, Fine Arts, Arts and Sciences, and Sport Sciences, plus a Conservatory, School of Foreign Languages, Vocational School and Institute of Graduate Studies.

English-medium options exist in Medicine, engineering, Psychology, Nursing, Nutrition and Dietetics, Physiotherapy, Business and International Trade. Program language must be checked in the offer.

Tuition Fees at Halic University

Current full bachelor's fees vary by program. Many degrees cost $4,700 per year, while selected programs are $2,700. Medicine costs $21,400 in Turkish and $24,000 in English. Associate programs start at $1,500 per year.

Housing is not included. Before payment, check tax, language preparation, deposit, materials and the period covered by the offer.

Halic University Scholarships

The current published program table does not show a separate standard discounted fee. Applicants should therefore budget from the listed amount. Any individual reduction is valid only when the official offer states the fee payable and the conditions for retaining it.

Compare final prices in USD, not headline percentages. A larger percentage off a higher nominal fee may still cost more than another program with a lower full price.

Navigating Halic's broad program catalogue

Start with the profession

Medicine, Nursing, Physiotherapy, Psychology, Computer Engineering, Architecture, Gastronomy and Conservatory programs have different standards, timelines and career restrictions. Decide the profession and intended country of work before comparing language and price.

Medicine and health sciences

Ask when clinical training begins, where placements take place and what language is used with patients. Nursing, Nutrition, Physiotherapy, Midwifery and Speech Therapy also differ in practical hours and licensing. Recognition must be researched in the jurisdiction where the graduate intends to practise.

Engineering and technology

Compare mathematics, laboratories, programming, capstone work and internships across Computer, Software, Electrical and Electronics, Industrial and Mechanical Engineering. Review real student projects and access to equipment, not only the module list.

Architecture, art and performance

Studio contact, critique, workshops, production and graduate portfolios are central. Add models, printing, software, instruments or performance expenses to tuition. Conservatory applicants should consider the audition and fit with the specialist instructor.

Read the table by level

Associate, bachelor, master and PhD entries lead to different qualifications. Filter by degree first and language second. For graduate study, check thesis status, duration and whether tuition is annual or charged for the full program.

Campus and placement routes

The main campus is in 5. Levent, but clinical or practical work can happen elsewhere. Compare housing against both the campus and placement location. In Istanbul, an extra transfer can add substantially to a demanding week.

A reliable offer

Before payment, verify program name, level, language, academic year, tuition, deposit and refund terms in writing. The admissions decision belongs to the university; professional recognition belongs to the relevant regulator.
